Bibliotecas y Humanidades Digitales en América Latina

Se presentan los resultados de una encuesta realizada en 2017 y repetida en el 2018 que buscó identificar a practicantes de Humanidades Digitales (HD) que trabajaran en bibliotecas y archivos de América Latina. Como telón de fondo se expone una revisión inédita de la presencia de las bibliotecas en los eventos fundacionales del campo con el propósito de localizar un discurso que suele presentarse como global. Con este fondo, el panorama latinoamericano se pone en diálogo con el Norte Global, y se contrastan los resultados de la encuesta con los de un estudio análogo anglosajón (Poremski, 2017). Los apartados de la encuesta analizados en este trabajo son los espacios de primer contacto con las HD, y la percepción de los participantes sobre la intersección entre ambos campos, y las fortalezas y debilidades de cada país para implementar métodos de HD en bibliotecas y archivos.
