El objetivo de este artículo es examinar el papel desempeñado por los Partidos Socialistas Europeos y Sindicatos en el proceso de la transición a la democracia durante el período 1959-1977. En resumen,la intervención de los Socialistas Europeos y los Sindicatos tuvo un impacto favorable en el establecimiento de una oposición socialista enérgica y en la deslegitimación del régimen de Franco, tanto en el interior como en el exterior de España.
The purpose of this article is to examine the involvement of the European Socialists Parties and Trade Unions in the procese of transition to democracy in Spain during the period 1959-1977. Overall. The intervention of the European Socialists and Trade Unions had a favorable impact on the establishment of a meaningful Socialist opposition and on the delegitimising of the Franco regime both in Spain and abroad.
