Melic, de origen árabe, se convierte al cristianismo, se bautiza y accede a presbítero. Además de su actividad eclesiástica, adquiere propiedades y desarrolla una intensa actividad agrícola y ganadera en el reino de León durante la primera mitad del siglo X. Mantiene muy buenas relaciones con su obispo, con otros presbíteros y con la nobleza. A su muerte gran parte de sus bienes pasan por testamento a los monasterios de San Cosme y San Damián de Abellar y al de Sahagún.
Melic, of Arab origin, becomes to the Christianity, is baptized and he accesses to presbyter. Besides his ecclesiastical activity, he acquires properties and he develops an intense agricultural and rancher activity in the kingdom of León during the first half of the 10th Century. He keeps very good relationships with his bishop, with other presbyters and with the nobility. When he dies, a big part of his goods pass for will to the monasteries of St. Cosme and St. Damián of Abellar and to the one of Sahagún.
