Family Inequalities in the Use of the Roman Nomen in the Epigraphy of the Valley of the River Duero. Their Juridical Implications

Abstract

The Roman inscriptions found in the territory of the valley of the river Duero allow us to identify a group of families that shows a differential use of the Roman nomen in the personal names of their members. We analyse the possible causes of this situation and its implications in the legal status of the individuals and the communities.
