Resumen

El presente trabajo estudia la labor de divulgación del teatro en lengua alemana que ejerció la célebre revista madrileña La Estafeta Literaria en su tercera etapa (1957-1962), durante la cual la presencia de la literatura dramática procedente de los países germanófonos fue inexistente en el sector editorial. Por consiguiente, las revistas literarias y la prensa —y también las representaciones de las obras que fueron llevadas a escena— resultaron el único medio de difusión —si bien efímero, en el caso de las escenificaciones— de dichas obras teatrales durante la época. El análisis de los contenidos de La Estafeta Literaria resultará interesante para estudiar el estado de la recepción de la cultura alemana en general y del teatro en particular en España, así como la influencia que pudieron tener en la mencionada recepción los diversos acontecimientos históricos y la actividad financiadora de la revista por parte del régimen.

Abstract: This paper studies the dissemination of German-language theatre by the famous Madrid magazine La Estafeta Literaria during its third stage (1957-1962), in which the presence of dramatic literature from German-speaking countries was non-existent in the publishing sector. Consequently, literary magazines and the press —and, in the case of the plays that were staged, also their performances, albeit ephemeral— were the only means of disseminating German theatre during this period. The analysis of the contents of La Estafeta Literaria will be of interest when it comes to observing the state of the reception of German culture in general and theatre in particular in Spain, as well as the influence that both historical events and the financing of the magazine by the regime may have had on the aforementioned reception.
