Abstract

The following text aims to describe phenomenologically the mode of donation of landscape space and the attentional and atmospheric dynamics it engages. Landscape thus appears to be given in a non-objective way, and its presentation must therefore be clearly distinguished from that of intentionally given objects, as well as from other modes of presentation. In this way, we will focus our analyses, firstly, on an examination of the way in which attention is demanded by landscape, in order to distinguish it from the attention whose pragmatic interest orients us in the world; secondly, we will examine the atmospheric dimension that it brings into play and from which its non-objective, enveloping and perimetric character will be revealed.
