Abstract

This study undertakes a micro-linguistic and textual description of the diff erent types of ancient (from 1856) and modern (to 2020) slogans. It compares and distinguishes between institutional campaign slogans and general advertising slogans, head-line and base-line advertising slogans, and describes the textuality and intertextuality of French and American political slogans, resulting from political marketing.
