Abstract

This article studies verses of poets who were active in diff erent times and places. In general, their verses are examples of extratextuality, as we cannot confi rm them to be the product of imitation. Nevertheless, we do exemplify how certain poets did indeed use verses or parts of verses from other earlier poets in the title of their works. Yet, in many cases, the coincidence is simply the result of incorporating ideas or popular expressions of the day, or traditional themes (Sin Dios, sin vos y sin mí, ”Without God, without you, without myself”), or common everyday grammar structures (Estos que..., “These that...”).
