Abstract

The aim of this paper is to determine why the anonymous author of the
Dissoì lógoi uses antilogy and which philosophical perspective he supports. I will focus my analysis on Dissoì lógoi §§ 1-3, in order to prove that in these paragraphs antilogy serves not only to contrast two opposed theses about ethical attributes, relativism and objectivism, but also to support relativism, showing that the advocates of objectivism
commit the fallacy a dicto secundum quid ad dictum simpliciter.
