Abstract

Social work is a discipline that promotes social transformation; however, its incorporation into the state, through the creation of welfare states, meant its orientation towards managerialism and bureaucratisation. This aspect has been questioned by Critical Social Work (Martínez, Cruz and Ioakimidis 2014; Alguacil 2012), within which Feminist Social Work is situated. In this article we are interested in building bridges and creating dialogues between critical perspectives in Social Work. In order to do so, we carried out a review of scientific works, searching for the words: ‘critical social work’, ‘feminist social work’, ‘feminist social work’ and ‘critical social work’ in the Dialnet, Scopus and Web of Science databases. As a result of these searches we bring here common aspects between both trends, as well as their possible tensions and areas of friction in order to build more inclusive societies.
