Análisis del Discurso en Redes Sociales relacionado con las Conductas Suicidas: Estudio Comparativo entre Adolescentes Italianos y Españoles

Los estudios sobre suicidio e Internet surgieron hace solo una década y aquellos sobre conductas suicidas y redes sociales son aún más recientes. Hasta la fecha, todos los beneficios y daños relativos al uso de las redes sociales y conductas suicidas en la adolescencia no se conocen del todo. No obstante, la presencia imperante de las redes sociales en la vida juvenil está fomentando el desarrollo de estrategias basadas en su uso, para la intervención, detección y prevención del suicidio. La presentación online de comportamientos suicidas es una muestra de la trascendencia del fenómeno y de la necesidad de abordarlo, teniendo en cuenta que en la literatura científica es escaso el análisis de la relación entre suicidio y redes sociales. Por ello, es necesario explorar todas las posibilidades ofrecidas por las redes sociales para detectar los factores implicados en estas conductas. El presente trabajo consiste en un análisis exploratorio del discurso social en Twitter sobre la base de tres categorías asociadas a las conductas suicidas, con fines descriptivos, preventivos, y comparativos, entre dos muestras de adolescentes: italianos y españoles. Los resultados extraídos evidencian un mayor número de tweets tanto pro-suicidas como instigadores en la muestra italiana, en comparación con la española, mientras que la muestra española supera a la italiana en cuanto a los tweets anti-suicidio. Se sugiere profundizar en las respuestas útiles a las comunicaciones en línea de los adolescentes y en otras posibilidades brindadas por las plataformas de redes sociales en el análisis del suicidio juvenil.
