The Venres Clínicos Unit is a clinic founded in 1984. A historical overview of the clinic is provided in terms of the clinical and research team, clinical working practices, and teaching and supervision to mental health professionals. Moreover data obtained during the period 1984-2009 regarding the types of consulted problems, socio-demographic characteristics of the patients, and referrals sources are reviewed. Finally, it is sketched the financial support to research by funds from the Venres Clinicos Unit, and the Premio Humanitas awarded in 2004.
