Presentation and Description of the Unit of Psychology of the Servei Assistencial de Salut of the UAB

Abstract

The beginning of the unity of psychology are in the year 1995. Since its foundation until 2002 this unit was supervised by a monitoring committee, chaired by the vice and promotion of cultural students and deans of medicine, psychology and science education among others members. Since its birth this unit was located in the SAS, which expands its health coverage to the population of the autonomous university, which already has units in primary care, occupational medicine, gynecology, dentistry, sports medicine and thereafter on the psychology unit. It was established in 1999-2000, an agreement of collaboration for graduate students in psychology who enroll in a master psychopathology and / or psychotherapy, with several educational institutions. We each course students, graduates in practice from our mentors unit. The general lines of our health care interventions are: Focal and brief interventions, Individual psychotherapeutic interventions of a course´s duration, group psychotherapy. The most frequent psychopathological profiles are: anxiety disorders, depression, grief, adaptive disorders and personality disorders.
