Abstract

This report concludes with the description of an Invention Patent [1] concerning a protective cover for CNG Compressed Natural Gas) as an immediate application because it is an innovation with possibilities of being transferred to industry, as well as other applications such as gas pressure cylinders, diving cylinders, rockets receptacles, aeronautics pressure reservoirs, etc. This work was the result of a series of studies, tests and research performed under the framework of a project funded by the Ministry de C y T (Science and Techniques Ministry) of the province of Cordoba. The invention consists of an acid-resistant elastic cover capable of sliding over a pressure cylinder’s surface which is made of plastic reinforced with fiberglass (PRFV) It protects it from corrosion under stress produced in the fiberglass when exposed to acid agents.
