En esta investigación cualitativa exploramos diferentes aspectos de los catálogos artísticos digitales españoles, ya que estos constituyen un elemento clave para la difusión y la investigación del patrimonio cultural. La considerable heterogeneidad de los fondos artísticos y órganos gestores ha dado como resultado un panorama complejo por lo que se ha hecho necesaria la selección previa de una muestra. A pesar de que ningún modelo digital examinado favorezca completamente el acceso universal al patrimonio, de ellos emergen ideas y prácticas capaces de dar respuesta a las necesidades de una sociedad plural y diversificada. La visibilización de los aspectos positivos y de aquellos que son mejorables intenta mostrar el potencial dinamizador de una herramienta que responda a las necesidades de todos los públicos.
