Civil liability for defective products under the new law 3/2014 : past, present and future from the legal, doctrinal and jurisprudential perspective

Abstract

Recently adopted Law 3/2014 of 27th March amends the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and users and other complementary laws, which was approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 of 16th November, regulating the protection of consumers and users. Given this, we will analyze the successive legal reforms on civil liability for defective products until the current text. We will approach the developments within the new bill and the factual it solves. We´ll see how the compensation of the victim and his full reparation is based. Finally, we will study the most significant cases from the doctrine and jurisprudence point of view.
