AUTHORS GUIDELINES

First of all, it is necessary to register here -except if it has been done previously- http://revistas.uned.es/index.php/ETFVI/user/register  as an author and as a reader, and then enter identification (USER) to be able to send articles and check the status of shipments.

Espacio, Tiempo y Forma, Serie VI Geografía (ETFVI) only publishes original and unpublished works on Geography. Papers submitted will have a maximum length of 60,000 characters with spaces (25 pages approximately), including figures, tables and bibliography. It must be ensured that the text structure is IMRaD (Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion). ETF only admits original works that have not been published, nor are they going to be published, in another publication, regardless of the language in which it is published, both partially and fully. They must be signed by the author / authors, stating the Center or Institution to which it belongs, postal and electronic address and ORCID code. The publication of a text in Espacio, Tiempo y Forma is not subject to any remuneration. ETFVI preferably accepts works in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.

1. DELIVERY OF ORIGINALS

The originals must be uploaded to the journal's website: http://revistas.uned.es/index.php/ETFVI, for which the author must register with the role of author and reader and state his email, affiliation (if you have the degree of doctor, add Dr. in the requested place labelled as Salutation), ORCID identifier, postal address, email, and contact telephone number.

The journal uses the blind peer review system of the texts submitted. The external evaluators will send a report to the ETFVI management indicating the suitability of the publication of the papers received and, where appropriate, the necessary corrections, which will be notified to the authors via email, as well as their acceptance.

2. PREPARATION OF ORIGINALS

Authors who wish to publish in ETFVI will upload their anonymous (unnamed) work to the OJS application: http://revistas.uned.es/index.php/ETFVI, where they must previously register as authors. And if they consider it, they will send two copies of the paper work (without additional corrections by hand), along with version in digital format. This, which will be delivered in "text" format (rtf, docx, odt, etc.), must correspond exactly with the copies delivered on paper.

2.1. Header data

- The original version to upload in the application must be anonymous. After the blind peer review, the title of the work in its original language and its translation into English (in high and low letters, that is, as a title with the first letter of each word in capital letter) must be indicated on the first page of the work.

- Also, an abstract in Spanish of the work will be sent, along with its English version. In the abstract, it is convenient to mention the objectives, methodology, results and conclusions obtained.

- Keywords will also be added, in both languages, separated by semicolons (;), that allow the identification of the work in the scientific databases. These will not be less than four nor exceed eight.

- In case the language of the original text is not Spanish or English, the title, the abstract and the keywords will be presented in the original language, together with its Spanish and English version.

- After the name of the author or authors of the work, a footnote must be included stating their workplace (affiliation), their email address and the ORCID identifier.

2.2. Presentation of the text

- Headers. The headings of the different parts of the article should be differentiated, using, if appropriate, a hierarchy of the sections adjusted to the proposed model (the bibliographic and web references go unnumbered):

1. FIRST LEVEL TITLE

1.1. TITLE OF THE HEADING

1.1.1. Sub-heading title

- The titles and subtitles of all the headings will go without an end point.

- A note may be included to thank and acknowledge the institutions or projects that finance the study presented, at the end of the work, and before bibliographical references. Optionally, this note may also be placed in the Spanish abstract of the work.

2.3. Figures and tables

- The numerical relation and the legend, both of the figures and of the tables, will be attached in a separate file in the necessary quality and also in the body of the work to indicate its location.

- Photographs and figures will be sent in individual files as jpeg, png, tiff or eps format and a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. The graphics and diagrams will be composed in vector and scalable formats (eps, ai, docx or compatible). Tables and text boxes will be presented in text format, as well as the body of the work (compatible with rtf, docx, odt, etc.).

- Illustrations (plates, drawing or photographs) will be entered as "Figure" (eg, Figure 1, Figure 2 ...). For their part, the tables will be designated as "Table". In the images the title should go in the footer and in the tables in the header. In all cases, the figure / table number and its location will be indicated in the text. The paper copy shall state the title of the work and the author's name and numbering. They will be numbered on the back, according to the aforementioned relationship.

- The author/s is/are obliged to cite the source of all graphic documentation, whatever its type, if it is not their own and to manage the appropriate permissions for their reproduction. The magazine declines any responsibility that could be derived from the infringement of the intellectual or commercial property rights.

2.4. Style

• The text will be presented without any type of formatting or indentation of paragraphs or tabs and with simple line spacing.

• Only Times New Roman fonts or any other Unicode font will be used.

• Literal citations, in any original language, will be inserted in the body of the text in the round, always between double quotation marks. If the quote exceeds three lines, it will be written in indented text, without quotation marks.

• The use of bold or underline will be avoided as much as possible.

• The acronyms and abbreviations used must be those commonly accepted within the discipline in which the work is viewed.

• The terms in other language that the text is written should be written in italics, without quotation marks.

• The rest of the editorial norms will be adjusted to what is indicated in the main authority of the respective language.

• The journal will not publish works that contain a high degree of self-citations, citations to works published by other authors in the journal itself or to the author's previous work in the same or other journals or scientific publications being considered as self-citations.

3. STRUCTURE OF THE ARTICLES

The articles presented must be adapted as indicated above to the IMRaD structure, this implies in a very brief way:

3.1. Introduction

It should be used to develop a thorough review of the state of the research and to cite taking into account the most common databases and the most relevant publications. It is convenient to indicate the existence of contradictions between the different authors if it exists, finally it is necessary to indicate the purpose of the work presented. It is important to highlight the framework that encompasses: local, regional, national, or global. The works in Geography must have a cartographic base that supports them.

3.2. Methodology

The sources of work used, both primary and secondary, and the choice of the method of work used must be indicated, indicating the use of quantitative, qualitative, or mixed techniques to explain the criteria and analysis procedures used in the development of the work presented.

3.3. Results

This section will be nuclear to present the evidence of the research carried out, the experimental results achieved will be indicated, supported by all kinds of graphic elements such as cartography itself, the presentation of tables, texts, graphics, and even significant photographic images, the degree of innovation achieved by the author/s in the presentation of the results.

It can be divided into sections and subsections if necessary.

3.4. Discussion of results

The research results must be subjected to comparison with other previous investigations, in this case the comparison of similarities or differences is vital to demonstrate with the presented research the advances in relation to other studies of similar topic. It is therefore necessary to re-present relevant papers as well as future prospect that originates the maintenance of the debate towards future publications of the subject matter faced.

3.5. Conclusions

It must be verified that the hypotheses presented initially have shown interest as an object of investigation. Original qualifications may be made by the author/s, for this a clear and direct language is required. Regardless of the level of scale used for the work (local, regional, national or international). It will be important to see the comparison between the different spaces and the applicability in different contexts of the local model to a larger scale or vice versa. A brief synthesis of the most significant results achieved and possible future lines of research will also be included.
