Abstract

This paper aims to realize a complete iconological study of civic wreath’s image exhibited in the monetary pieces coined by the mints of Hispania during the Roman imperial times. For this purpose, we present an exhaustive survey of the various genealogical strata and the most immediate parallels of these representations. Furthermore, this geo-synchronous and symbolic overhaul that we propose also includes a thorough interpretation of the various meanings collected in the mentioned images, comprising a detailed description of the different and analogues messages that may be present.
