Few countries have known how to link tradition and modernity in such a solid way. The analysis of the constitutive ceremony of the General Council of the Principality of Andorra shows that custom and modernity go hand in hand in a ceremony with more than six hundred years of history. Through protocol and ceremonial, the past is present in this ceremony, which is full of symbols. Its ritual is intended to transmit continuity, respect for the ancestors, the Bons Homs, who initiated it, and the feeling of a country with centuries of history.
