SLEEP, DREAMS AND ONEIROMANCY IN PRE-ARISTOTELIAN THOUGHT
Keywords:
Filosofía antigua, Sueño, Sueños, Fisiología, OniromanciaAbstract
The fragmentary work of pre-Aristotelian thinkers shows an interest in the investigation of the physiology of sleep, dream phenomena and the phenomenon of divination through dreams. On these issues, numerous Presocratic testimonies, some Hippocratic text and various passages of the Platonic dialogues show interest in finding a rational description and explanation of these phenomena.
