This critical note aims to sketch a synoptic view of the work under discussion, seeking to offer conceptual and contextual tools that provide the possible reader with a unitary and coherent apprehension of it. This is why the question of the specificity of contemporary Jewish thought will be discussed throughout the note and its full complexity will be emphasized, especially before the event of the Shoáh. This general characterization will then apply to each of the authors studied in the volume.
