In the currently expansive horizon of the discipline of aesthetics, the aim of this work is to approach two traditionally neglected aesthetic realities, such as
negative emotions on one hand, despised by modern aesthetics as not pleasant, and everyday aesthetics on the other, also ignored for focusing on practical objects and experiences. Our purpose is actually twofold, because it is not only to rescue these two areas for aesthetic reflection, but also to cross them to see the treatment received by negative affects within the framework of the aesthetics of everday life, if they are welcomed or not. To this end, we will address some of the main theorists of this recent aesthetic field to study how far they have been able to overcome the old prejudices against displeasure.
