Abstract

The article analyzes the evolution of the Third Sector of Social Action (TSAS) over recent decades, highlighting the changes, challenges, and strategies that have shaped its development. Throughout the text, the definition and mission of the TSAS are discussed as a group of private, non-profit entities focused on improving social cohesion and inclusion. Its mission is to contribute to social development, defend rights, and promote civic participation. Special emphasis is placed on its transformative vocation and role as a social actor, as the TSAS is not merely a subsidiary service provider but has a transformative vocation centered on social inclusion, the promotion of rights, and participation. Additionally, the article underscores the active participation of individuals and affected communities within the various organizations, as the TSAS must foster empowerment both within its organizations and in society at large. The article also delves into future challenges and concludes by highlighting the need for the TSAS to continue adapting to social changes, maintaining its commitment to inclusion and social cohesion, and exploring new paradigms that promote collective well-being based on rights and active, participatory citizenship.
