Abstract

This article presents the contemporary face of practices evidencing working conditions similar to slavery, which are present in the daily life of irregular migrants and other populations. It aims to show the reality of a portion of the migrant population and characterize slave labor. Subsidies are sought within the historical and current context, based on laws that criminalize this activity. For that, a bibliographical and documentary research was used, opting for the deductive method, since it approached the relationship of migration with slave labor, describing the practice of migration and similar work, as in the case of the ten Venezuelans, in the South of Bahia. Above all, domestic laws on the subject are highlighted, such as Slave Labor and the Federal Constitution.
