Abstract

The aim of this work is to present the experimental study of the thermal behavior of two solar cookers, the linear parabolic solar concentrator and the tilted box solar oven and alternatives of combined applications. It is oriented to the supply of non- polluted water and the preparation and cooking of meals for the regional architecture of isolated or remote arid areas. The research methodology considers heat transfer processes, thermal behavior studies on an experimental basis and possibilities of solving food needs. The results indicate adequate convenient cooking times, facilitating their utilization according to uses, needs and locations in rural shelters and houses. The conclusions obtained from the socio-economical, technical and environmental aspects, related to the solar systems analyzed, allow us to state that their joint applications contribute to increase uses and operational modes and improve domestic services.
