The right of religious assistance of patients admitted to hospital public centers include the provision of food in accordance with their beliefs. In this regard, it should be noted that despite all faiths contain food precepts mandatory that in most cases, are not taken into account when developing menus sick. By contrast, the health authorities are required to give full effect to the fundamental right of religious freedom enshrined in article 16 of the Spanish Constitution, through the right to assistance given to believers admitted to hospitals by article 2.1.b of the Ley Organica de Libertad Religiosa.
