The biannual journal Historia del Presente (HDP) was founded in 2001 and, since 2007, has been co-published by the Association of Historians of the Present and the publishing house ENEIDA.
Historia del Presente aims to be a voice and a unifying force for historians interested in the study of Spain from the mid-20th century to the present. It welcomes contributions on the history of other countries and comparative history. It publishes original research, especially articles that make a novel contribution, enrich the field of study they address, and offer a critical and rigorous perspective.
Its aim is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field and to the debate among historians and social scientists. All published articles undergo double-blind peer review and external controls.
It is primarily aimed at the national and international scientific and academic community, as well as all professionals in contemporary history.
Since 2014, Historia del Presente has held the Excellence Certification from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
Historia del Presente is included and indexed in the main Spanish and international catalogs and databases, such as SCOPUS, SJR, HISTORICAL ABSTRACTS, ISOC, FUENTE ACADÉMICA PLUS, ERIC, RESH, LATINDEX, ULRICH, MIAR, DICE, CINDOC, and DIALNET.
As of May 2024, Historia del Presente is published in digital format and open access, in Madrid, by the Association of Historians of the Present and the UNED (National University of Distance Education).
