The protocol carried out by the regional parliamentary assemblies in Spain has been, with a few outstanding exceptions, not very well looked into. At the same time parliaments are rather complex and unique institutions due to its independence from the executive branch. In this essay I will discuss the past and present of the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Government of Navarre within the parliament venue. Navarre is also a very unique region that has managed to preserve her self-government through the years. Since the creation of the Parliament of Navarre in 1979, this ceremony has taken placed eight times. During all these years, this event has evolved and has coped with challenges that I consider of interest to assess and present to the reader.
