Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • El envío no ha sido publicado previamente ni se ha sometido a consideración por ninguna otra revista (o se ha proporcionado una explicación al respecto en los Comentarios al editor/a).

  • El archivo de envío está en formato OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF o WordPerfect.
  • Siempre que sea posible, se proporcionan direcciones URL para las referencias.
  • El texto tiene un interlineado sencillo, un tamaño fuente de 12 puntos, se utiliza cursiva en lugar de subrayado (excepto en las direcciones URL), y todas las ilustraciones, figuras y tablas se encuentran colocadas en los lugares del texto apropiados, en vez de al final.
  • El texto reúne las condiciones estilísticas y bibliográficas incluidas en Pautas para el autor/a, en Acerca de la revista.
  • En el caso de enviar el texto a la sección de evaluación por pares, se siguen las instrucciones incluidas en Asegurar una evaluación anónima.
  • El autor declara que esta es su obra original y ha sido escrita por los autores declarados.

Author Guidelines

The selected manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by external experts from outside the Editorial Board and they will adjust to the criteria for scientific articles called IMRyD. See more aobut IMRYd metode.

Formally, they must meet the following criteria:

  • Text in Calibri font, size 12, with single spacing. Footnotes must be written in Calibri font, size 10, with single spacing.
  • They must include, in Spanish, Portuguese or French, depending on the language in which the article is written, and in English, a brief summary and a selection of keywords (maximum 5 or 6).
  • The manuscript will have a minimum length of 14 pages and a maximum of 40 using the template that can be downloaded on this website and that includes all the sections requested in the regulations.
  • Bibliographical citations will preferably be intertextual, following the Anglo-Saxon system of inclusion within the work, indicating between parentheses (SURNAME, YEAR: PAGE). For example: (SÁNCHEZ GONZÁLEZ, 2011: 25). At the end of the article, the bibliography corresponding to all the cited works will be included, following the APA standards in its latest edition.
  • For clarifications or quotes longer than two lines, they will be made at the bottom of the page. In their first appointment, they must submit the following format: AUTHOR'S SURNAME, in capital letters; Name of the author, in lower case or initial of the name followed by a period, title of the work, in italics. Place of publication, Publisher, Year of publication, volume (in the case of having more than one work), to which the reference corresponds, page to which the reference corresponds, preceded by p. or pp. For example: SÁNCHEZ GONZÁLEZ, M.D.M., Fundamentals of Ceremonial and Protocol. Madrid, Synthesis, 2011, p. 25.
  • Book chapters and magazine articles, on their first citation, must present the following format: AUTHOR'S SURNAME, in capital letters, Author's name, in lower case or initial of the name followed by a period, title of the chapter or article, between quotation marks; title of the book or name of the magazine in which it is contained in italics; Publication place; editorial (if it is a chapter of a book), year of publication; volume, in the case of having more than one work, to which the reference corresponds; Initial and final pages of the collaboration preceded by pp.; page to which the reference preceded by p. For example:

SÁNCHEZ GONZÁLEZ, M.D.M., "Ceremonial and protocol issues in the Courts of Cádiz", in Proceedings of the XIII International Protocol Congress, OICP-EIP, 2012, pp. 266-282, p. 268.

SÁNCHEZ GONZÁLEZ, M.D.M., "Comparative analysis of protocol regulations in Spanish Universities", International Journal of Public Relations, vol 3, nº 5 (January-June), 2013.

  • In the case of not being the first citation of the work, the reference must present the following format: AUTHOR'S SURNAME, in capital letters; title of the work, abbreviated if possible; volume, in the case of having more than one work, to which the reference corresponds; page to which the reference corresponds, preceded by p. For example: SÁNCHEZ GONZÁLEZ, Fundamentos del Ceremonial..., p. 23.

Failure to meet the aforementioned formal criteria may be considered a reason for non-admission of the article.
