METAMORPHOSIS IN CLASSICAL AND (NEO)BAROQUE MYTHO-POETIC UNIVERSES

The work operates a counterpoint between a classic poem, Metamorphoses (Ovid), and a Latin American neo-baroque novel, Hombres de maíz (Asturias), texts that rework ancient Greco-Roman and Mesoamerican myths referring to the evolution of bodies. In both, the somatic mutations of beings at the level of diegesis are shown through a polyphonic and mutant corpus to which correspond identities characterized by discord, hybridity, mobility or the possibility of petrification.
