Derived from the nationality of Member States it´s regulation still an exclusive attribution of Member States. Probably this link is one of the reasons why more than twenty years after, this status has not developed significantly while it was created to progress. Actually any change on this situation demands a reform of the Treaties which probably will not take place in a long term. That´s why any evolution remains on EUCJ in it´s task to interpret rights derived EU Citizenship in providing an interpretation in accordance the European Charter on Fundamental Rights.
