Review of the European legal framework on railways: Recast Directive

Abstract

After twenty years of community intervention in railway transport, a systematic legal framework harmonizing the industry has not been completed. The Recast Directive systematizes the legal framework and faces some of its more relevant challenges: structural separation, access to infrastructure, financing, independent regulator, etc.
