Within this study we try to reflect about those cases in which the Public Administration acts assuming the guardianship of children who have a health problem such as obesity and, together with other factors, end up in an abandonment situation. It is well that the asumption of public guardianship is not automatic, thus, the origin and the process by which the administration takes care of children must be analyzed. This intervention, brings consequences which means, ultimately, separating permanently or temporarily parents or guardians from the parental authority and deciding about their development in order to reintegrate them into their family environment.
