In 424/3 B.C. Spartan General Brasidas, leads an army into Thrace, to take the city of Amphipolis, Athens supply base. The intention of this study is to analyze both the figure of Brasidas transmitted by Thucydides, and the impact which his campaign in Thrace have in Sparta foreign policy from that time. The victory at Amphipolis got the spartan recovery in the context of war and the first sign of trend change within it.Downloads
