This article offers an approach to the fundamental lines of the phenomenology of the love consciousness by Joaquín Xirau. The objective is to show how loving can become the ontological, axiological and epistemological foundation of reality and, therefore, in the key of the subject-object arch of consciousness. If the unfolding of Modernity has led the existence of man to nihilism, the loving conscience is postulated
as a reasonable path to salvation. When the reality of the world is restored in its double
dimension, ontological and axiological, an experience of its plenary and organic sense
can be recovered.
