This study has a purpose to obtain the cooling behavior of the marble type Café Tabaco extracted from the quarry located in Agua de Luna, Tepexi de Rodríguez, Puebla, Mexico, through a Newton´s Cooling test. The result obtained in this study is that the marble type Café Tabaco extracted from the quarry has a cooling constant of -0.03555. In addition, the cooling function obtained satisfies in 98.95% with the experimental data. The results show that the marble type Café Tabaco has a capacity to reach the thermodynamic equilibrium in approximately 140 minutes. This is important to know, since for the heating-cooling-immersion cycle of the salt crystallization tests it is mentioned that the specimens need to cool to room temperature for about 12 minutes, to avoid as far as possible a superficial thermal shock. In this way, it is possible to verify that this material has the capacity to dissipate the heat in this time lapse.
