Abstract

The different proposals contained on the Commission Green Paper promoting free movement of public documents and recognition of civil status registry excerpts (2010) are the main questions analyzed in this article. For public documents the target deal with the elimination of any kind of formal restrictions. The recognition of the effects of civil status records could be reached stablishing a European certificate on civil status, operating just by introducing the mutual recognition of any civil status or/and by achievement of uniform conflict of laws rules.
