Abstract

Manufacturers provide to the healthcare professionals, a wide choice in respect of the knee prosthesis, essentially dependent of the geometry and the material type. In this study, computerized tomography images from different patients were used, which led to the development of geometric models and with approximated bone density, for a future knee prosthesis insertion. The computational models (2D and 3D), subjected to compression due an asymmetric load, will allow to choose the best combination between geometry and material in the performance of the prosthesis.
