Abstract

This paper proposed a personal computer based system for fault detection in industrial fires tubes boilers. Algorithms that facilitate the quick detection of abrupt faults in these complex equipments are presen- ted. The method is based on the estimation of process parameters, detection of change produced in these estima- tes by a fault and an ulterior modification of the estimation algorithm in order to accelerate the identification of the final value of this change. Simulation results show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed system for fault detection. Then this system can be used in a wide range of practical applications, not only in fire tubes boilers, but also in other classes of plants, equipments and industrial processes.
