A formulation for characterization thin piping systems stresses and deformation situation using the finite element method is presented. The element pipe developed presents a displacement ficld for a toroidal shell semimembrane deformation model. The solution for the pipe section distortion depends upon boundary conditions of prescribed displacements or forces. A numerical study for the longitudinal stresses of membrane is obtained and the flexibility factor is determined for curved pipes bands.
