El ‘espíritu de Allah’: el Ayatolá Jomeini y los fundamentos políticos de la República Islámica

El Ayatollah Ruhollah Jomeini es uno de los principales referentes del islamismo del siglo XX. Rompiendo con una tradición políticamente quietista, Jomeini encarna un replanteamiento militante y revolucionario del Islam chiita, que culminará con el establecimiento de la primera república islámica moderna. Este artículo presenta una reseña de la vida y trayectoria política de Jomeini, desde sus primeros pasos dentro de las jerarquías religiosas de Qom, hasta su muerte en 1989 después de una década como Líder Supremo del país. El texto plantea una exposición de su pensamiento político y concretamente de su teoría del wilâiat-ul Faqîd, que sin duda constituye su principal contribución al pensamiento político islámico moderno.
