The article describes the development of a demonstrator based on interactive maps and SKOS (Simple Knowledge Organization System) in the field of Classical Philology and Latin toponymy. The tool allows the location of places from a map and the retrieval of TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) encoded texts, expanding the search with the inflected forms of toponyms. In the proposed solution, the SKOS file with the names of places and the TEI texts are stored in two XML repositories managed with the open source tools Apache Jena Fuseki and BaseX. The proposed user interface improves the retrieval of texts and offers a flexible mechanism to explore large collections of classical texts based on Latin toponymy.
