Discurso ficcional y modos de representación histórica en "Noticias del imperio", de Fernando del Paso = Fictional discourse and history’s representational modes in "Noticias del imperio", of Fernando del Paso
The basic difference between fiction and history, as discursive forms, is that the historic events are verifiable, while the fictional events are only acceptable because of their verisimilitude. However, the existence of a hybrid genre such as the historical novel implies a relationship between fiction and history as discourses, and the problem of the authenticity of the historical events that constitute literary themes. The aim of this paper is to examine the forms of historical representation and its relationship with the fictional discourse through the novel Noticias del imperio.
