Carlota O’Neill censurada: la novela inédita "Tres hombres y una mujer" (1945) = Censored Carlota O’Neill: the unpublished novel "Tres hombres y una mujer" (1945)
After nearly five years spent in the Victoria Grande Prison in Melilla, Carlota O’Neill lived in Barcelona from 1940 to 1949, when she departed into exile. During this period she worked as a writer and journalist using the pseudonym of Laura de Noves. Using that name O’Neill signed gossip columns in magazines for women and published romantic novels. Also then she wrote the novel Tres hombres y una mujer which wouldn’t become published. Autobiographical features and, over all, author’s ideas about the woman’s subject can be noticed. After reading it is obvious why the censorship rejected. What is not so clear is why O’Neill wrote it.
