Abstract


Resumen

En este trabajo se examinan las principales variables relacionadas con la permanencia de la mujer maltratada en convivencia prolongada con el agresor. También se analizan las diferentes respuestas emocionales generadas en la víctima por el maltrato en función de las fases de la violencia. Asimismo se describen las estrategias de afrontamiento inadecuadas empleadas por las víctimas en convivencia con el maltratador. Se comentan las implicaciones de este estudio para la práctica clínica y para las investigaciones futuras.

Abstract

This paper examines the main variables related to the stay of battered women with aggressors. The different emotional responses in the victims are also analyzed according to the longitudinal course of domestic violence. Likewise, the maladapted coping strategies used by the victims to survive in this situation are described. The implications of this study for clinical practice and future research in this field are commented upon.
