What you have to do is to slowly change habits; for example from eating readily prepared food from the supermarket to eating more natural foods prepared with fewer chemical additives and less sugar, salt and fat. Of course it is not easy to say goodbye to the easy to get convenient food; but a little effort in preparing the proper food is a worthwhile long term investment for your body. To keep motivated in implementing and achieving your long term healthy goal, it is important that you are aware of the followings:- You must know your objective and why you have to change to healthy habits. You must know what are the results and benefits you can expect to get after adopting the healthy habits. You must be clear on what are the healthy habits that you have to slowly change to; amongst which are minimize caffeine, nicotine, sugar, salt and high fat diet. increase dietary fiber by eating more fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and eat as much organic foods as possible. replace bad fats with good fats by using liquid vegetable oils such as canola and olive oils instead of solid fats such as butter. eat more fish and reduce red meat intake. do simple exercises. Exercise not only burn calories but also releases endorphins in your brain that make you feel good. Get your body moving- walk to the shops, do some gardening, wash car, climb the stairs, vacuum the house, do sit ups, do chair squats, do rope skipping etc. get proper quality sleep. pay attention at meal times. Eat slowly, savor your good and be aware and stop when you are full. distinguish between real hunger and other triggers such as tired, thirst, stress, feeling down about something etc. award yourself with other things other than food such as, pampering yourself at the spa instead of celebrating an event or achievement with a nice expensive dinner. Or, maybe buy yourself a new dress, shoes, handbag etc. There are many other good habits you can adopt in your daily life. Losing weight is not only about which diet plan you choose but more on how long do you stick to it. So, if you want to look better, feel a lot better, and most importantly be healthier, make sure you slowly change the bad habits to healthy ones. Yes, it took a lot of hard works and self-discipline, but it is worth it!
